How do you know it's not the switch? Did you check for voltage with volt meter?
Check fuse's? Look at a wiring diagram to see what all is involved in the sunroof electrical? Controlled by a electronic module. The switch is an input to the control module, 5 volt ref. 2001 Buick Regal Ignition Switch Recall
Answered on Apr 30, 2018. When the headlights go out, check for power to the low beams on the orange (RightT) and orange/black (left). If you're getting power, then the problem is on the switching/ground side of the circuit. The body control module uses the ambient light sensor as an input and the headlight switch. If the light sensor see dark, the BCM provides ground to the control coil in the headlight relay. When the control coil is energized, it closes contacts that provide the ground path to the headlights.
Since this is intermittent, I suggest tapping on the headlight relay with a screwdriver handle when the lights go out. It's located behind the glove box. Or, try swapping the relay with a different one and see if that solves the problem Answered on Jan 05, 2018. Sec life??????
SECURITY LIGHT? Anti-theft system problem. The Pass-Key IIĀ® Theft Deterrent system prevents vehicle theft by disabling the starter motor and fuel system. If the Body Control Module (BCM) dose not identify the use of the correct ignition key to start the vehicle, the (BCM) will communicate a message to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) which will disable the crank relay and fuel delivery to the engine.
When the (BCM) identifies the use of the correct ignition key (resistor pellet) to start the vehicle, the (BCM) will send a fuel enable and starter enable message to the (PCM) which will allow the vehicle to start. Answered on Apr 08, 2017.
The white wires are intact, target is to bypass the anti-theft all together. I was going to remove the cylinder and blank it out, so it will turn, on any key (of course in our case the original w/chip key). Is there a way to disarm or remove that function all together? I have pulled out the halo from its original place and also pulled out the ignition switch. The car starts and runs and drives fine.
I would like to put back and turn the key like I used to w/o all the security stuff with the key cylinder. The white wires are intact, target is to bypass the anti-theft all together. The car starts and runs and drives fine. I would like to put back and turn the key like I used to w/o all the security stuff with the key cylinder. It sounds like the anti theft lock is engaged. There should be 2 white wires hooked to the ignition. They are very easy to break in the halo surrounding the key.

They measure resistance in the key itself. There should also be a plastic piece just behind the lock cylinder with a silver rod coming out of the bottom of it. That is the anti theft. If the wires are broke in the halo, it will not allow the rod to punch up and the key to turn. Take a ohm meter and test both wires. If with the key in you get no resistance measured, your halo is broken.
You have to replace the lock cylinder and key. Then take it to the dealer to have the computer reset to recognize the new resistance setting. Posted on Sep 11, 2010.
