Artesian Spas Piper Glen Manual 2015
Avoid Artesian Spas at all costs. I purchased a 2004 top of the line Piper Glenn. Its The product is average to say the least. Aside from a main control panel malfunctioning twice, a pump going out and all the plastic control knobs discoloring but the warrenty is worthless and the company customer service department is deplorable and abussive to the consumer. I've been trying to get a warrenty issue repaired for over a year, the first service rep fixed one problem but caused several others, the second service rep knew nothing about the product, sold me replacement head rests that came from Artesian incomplete and has been paid for them (of course advance payment required) but when I call Artesian I get nothing but abuse. You're lucky if they ever return a phone call. They don't listen to the consumer, they act as if you know nothing and then hang up on you.

Don't waist your time or money on Artesian. All you're buying is a future nightmare! Monetary Loss: $12. When we were researching hot tubs, Artesian claimed to be the premier product and of very high quality. Even their literature claims they will last, and be enjoyed, for many years. They describe the warranty as 'Premium Class.' When you get into it, it feels like they only guarantee the parts which cannot go wrong.

The quality of the spa and it's installation leave something to be desired. When installed, rather than use the existing cable entry port, the installer drilled through the wooden frame, badly splitting it in the process. The reason given was that customers prefer to have the cable enter via the underside of the spa. I was not offered a choice! This has been rectified after my complaint to the UK company. We had described the obstacles in detail for delivery. The salesman assured us that they presented no problem and he would ensure that the delivery team had adequate ramps etc with them.
This didn't happen, which resulted in damage being done to my paving etc., despite them borrowing a scaffolding board from me and declining the use of more. Just two years in and with light use, two of the jets have deposited bearings into the tub and need replacing. Not what I would consider a quality product. Jets are not covered by the warranty. Having failed so quickly, it feels like it is a known problem that Artesian Spas do not want to take responsibility for. Although Artesian Spas say it is unlikely that any bearings have travelled internally, they cannot be sure. Its just a case of waiting to see if any damage occurs!
Again, not exactly a quality product. To be fair, the user manual does state that they are not covered by the warranty. You are given the manual after purchasing a spa! I certainly expected more from a £9,000+ product. The Artesian Spas salesman warned us off the cheaper Chinese imports, saying that they had a reputation for going wrong and that they were likely to need parts replacing. Paying the extra for an Artesian Spa, bought with it the peace of mind that they were quality products built to last. I now wonder whether it would have been better to buy an import at less than half this price.
Quite a lot of parts would need to be replaced before it caught up with the Artesian Spa price. I honestly cannot recommend Artesian Spas. They feel very much like 'brown ale quality at a champagne price'. I have a artesian pelican bay. While I agree with the person that said discoloring in te pillows and control knobs is the users fault for not properly cleaning them, and/or improper water chemistry, my complaint is not one of the pillows will stay attached to te hot tub anymore. I ended up stashing the pillows away because as soon as you turn on the jets the pillows just end up floating around the spa anyway.
Aside from the pillow problem the waterfall is also useless. Unless you turn it on every day the water in that line turns rancid and is very unpleasant when you do use it. I have a leak in that line anyway so I just don't use the waterfall. And for the biggest complaint of all, the TOP SIDE CONTROL PANELS ARE GARBAGE!! The first two times it went artesian covered it under warranty. Now my warranty has expired and I am on the hook for replacing te control panel once every two years.
Fortunately I found a site that sells it for 200 + shipping. Everywhere else I looked the price tag is 450-600$ This is not an acceptable maintenance cost considering the hot tub was purchased for a whopping 16,000!
The good news is I had an Artesian for 12 years in the NE, so 12 winters of snow ice and weather. The bad news is there was always something. My dealer went out of business many years ago and Artesian could not give me anyone to do repair work, so I am self taught. Repolaced the circ oump myself about 4 years ago. Many problems over the years with leaking lines. Light lens leaked as well. So, 12 years wasnt bad but I did not need the crash course in spa repair.
For my new one I want to spend more time relaxing and less time trouble shooting. I've been a spa teck for over 15 years. It continues to amaze me how lack of care of expensive products is always the fault of the manufacture. Think about it. Spas are 98% the same!
Same plastic plumbing, same acrylic shell, jets all of the same material. Try this on your shopping adventure: Ask the sales person who makes your jets, where does the shell material come from, who makes your pump/motor? Moreover then not your going to get the same answers. BECAUSE most spa companies buy from the same manufactures.
Look at the problems posted on different spas sites. The exact same complaints. Shame on this guy! He would fill his new car from the garden hose and then complain to the dealership!

I have owned 2 hot tubs in my life. The first was a beachcomber I bought used for $750. The tub was alright for a year while we were still doing the landscaping of the backyard. Sadly, only a year after purchasing the tub it conked out and was going to cost thousands of dollars to fix. My wife and I decided to buy a new tub instead of fixing this old one, we found a few local dealers in Oakville.
Factory Hot Tubs gave us a rebate for our old tub and removed for us! We purchased a 52 jet Antigua. My wife and I love it and use it more than a few times a week. The difference in the tubs is like night and day, we stay in it much longer, our hydro bill is half what it used to be and we are sleeping better than ever. We are totally satisfied with the customer service we received, the team was so friendly and not to mention hilarious. Anyways, our Artesian Spa has had no problems to date, nearly 3 years in. The ozone in the tub makes it easy to sit in the tub for long periods of time without having nasty, crusty dried up skin like we used to have.
My wife and I totally recommend an Artesian Spa! I have had to replace a number of my jets too, the plastic 'ear' thing that keeps it in place either snaps off or gets stuck in a depressed mode allowing the jet to eject into the tub. I have found the cost of the jets themselves to be the LEAST expensive part of owning this hot tub; 2009 Artesian Island) at about $7.50 each - from the dealer. The cost of shipping SUCKS so I just ordered extra anticipating further problems. I have had a couple of other issues that were covered under warranty - don't even get me started on the stereo system - and have found the customer service to be helpful (of course I call my dealer directly and they remember me even after 5 years). Customer service is all dependent on the dealer. We purchased an Island Antigua from a local dealer about two and a half years ago and it has been an absolute joy.
No problems, untill today that is. All four pillows are now peeling, we have always removed them when shocking the tub and cleaned them with warm soapy water as advised in the manuall and by our dealer. We have just priced replacements on-line and feel they should last much longer for the price, we are now in the process of contacting our dealer and will update you all on the outcome.
