I was recently given a Polaris 4 wheeler. It's been sitting for quiet awhile. Most or all of the identifying decales are worn off. I'm pretty sure it's a 250 though. It's and automatic transmission with a chain drive. Only number I can locat on it is top front. With the VIN number.I'm thinking it may be a 2001 but that's about all I know. I'd like to get a free downloadable service manual and try to get this thing running fro my nephew when he comes to visit.Any help or advice would greatly be appreciated.Pete.

2001 Suzuki Quadrunner 250 Service Manual

Just picked up a 2001 ltf250 (2wd) for dirt cheap because it wouldnt run. Turns out the battery had an internal short and was causing havoc with the ignition system. Put the battery out of my yamaha yfz450 in it and the suzuki fired right up and ran like a champ.

It was a farm quad, and Im guessing it was never maintained, as the farm I got it from looked like reheated hell served as sunday brunch and the quad was PACKED with horse manure. As such, Id like to do an oil change on it, but Im having a hard time finding any info on this quad as to where the filter is, how many quarts, etc etc. Everything I find is either for the earlier models, or the later ozark model. The filter will be on the right side of the bike(when you are sitting on it) down at the bottom of the case, there will be 3 bolts you will have to take out then pop the cover off to access it. Note there are two sets of 3 bolts on that same side but as I said it will be the bottom three. Also on that side, if you have cleaned it good enough to see, you will see the sight glass that allows you to check the oil level and right below that there should be some numbers with ML after it this will tell you how many quarts of oil you need to use, Just remember that each quart is 9 so you will just divide the number on the case by that number to figure out how many to use.

Let me know if you need to know anything else. Yep your assumption is correct, and just in case you do not know there should be 2 drain plugs on the bottom of the bike one for the oil in the crankcase and one for the rest of the oil in the transmission. I always take both out of mine just to make sure I get all of the old oil out. If I am not mistaken there is an adjustment that you can do on it but I am not 100% sure of where that is, I am more into the engine side of things and normally let someone else do the trans stuff for the most part. Maybe someone can chime in on that part for me.

I wish I had a dealer that close to me the closest one I have is over an hour away and it sucks having to drive all the way over there to just pick up little parts I may need. Yeah, I got under the bike today and found the site glass for the oil level, and the oil cap says 10w40 on it, so just need to run up to the zuki shop tomorrow and get some goodies. Whats up with the 'no clymer manual' for the 99 to 01 ltf250s? I can find everything BEFORE that, and the Ozarks afterwards, but nothing on my year. Other than that, the bike is awesome.

Manual

Ive yet to find a place on my property to get it stuck really good that a little body english doesnt get me out of. I spent 2 years in the gulf coast mud, so I know how to get something stuck!
